The stolen 10-wheeler drum truck of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has been sold for Tk 60,000 as salvage. But the market price of the truck was around 90 lakhs. Detective police have arrested three people including a DSCC driver in this incident.
On August 12, the garbage truck was stolen from DSCC’s Matuail ‘Central Garbage Dump’. Later, on August 17, some parts of the drum truck’s engine were found in a steel mill in Mograpara, Sonargaon, Narayanganj.
Investigating the incident, the detective police arrested three people. Among them, Emon, an outsider who was driving the car at the time of the incident, was arrested from Noakhali, DSCC driver Amir from Dhaka and a person named Alamgir, who was involved in cutting the car, was arrested from Narayanganj. On August 19, the court sent these three to jail.
An officer in charge of South City told Prothom Alo last Tuesday that there is a repair shop called Shaon Enterprises next to HKG Steel Mill in Mograpara, Sonargaon. Emon and Amir sold the truck there for only 60 thousand rupees. On August 17, after the engine was found at the steel mill, a raid was carried out at the repair shop.
